In just over 40 days’ time, regional Victoria will switch to digital-only TV broadcasting.
From May 5, TV transmission will switch from analogue to digital across all of the State (with the exception of Melbourne). Regional Victoria will be the third region in Australia to switch to digital (Mildura switched in June 2010 and regional SA followed in December 2010).

Freeview Welcomes ONE HD To Regional Australia

Freeview today welcomes the announcement by Macquarie Media Group that they will be bringing ONE HD to regional viewers of Southern Cross Ten who currently receive their HD service in Regional New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and the ACT.
MCM has made a significant investment in digital equipment and facilities to enable HD programming to be delivered to viewers. ONE HD provides 24 hour sport coverage for viewers with HD televisions or HD set-top boxes in these areas, subject to digital coverage.
