Freeview launches new on-air TVC campaign and announces new Marketing & Insights Manager

Freeview has launched a new on-air awareness campaign across Australia’s free-to-air networks ABC, SBS, the Seven Network, Nine Network & Network 10 to reintroduce Australian viewers to the incredible array of free premium content available on their connected TVs via Freeview.

Simply using their remote controls on Freeview certified connected TVs with an active internet & aerial connection, viewers can watch, search & discover over 30+ channels and over 50,000 episodes of quality local & international content for FREE; no charges, fees, subscriptions or contracts.

Providing a simple, single-entry point for viewers to search & discover the latest hit season premieres, nightly news, weekly live sporting events, or catching up on entire seasons of blockbuster titles, Live or On Demand, Australian audiences are spoilt for choice across an incredible suite of channel brands from Australia’s free-to-air networks. The comprehensive Freeview search function makes content easier to discover as viewers can actively search for content across all Australian free-to-air channels including ABC iview, SBS On Demand, 7plus, 9Now and 10 play instantly.

Freeview is an enhanced HbbTV (Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV) service, providing Australians with a more seamless integration & streamlined experience between broadcast and on-demand BVOD services using the internationally recognised HbbTV 2.0 standard which was launched into market in April 2021 and is also fully backward compatible with all Freeview certified HbbTV 1.5 devices (dating back to 2014) through the dynamic delivery of different app versions to suit varying TV requirements. Using the Freeview App on both Android & iPhone devices brings the ability for viewers to watch on the go & also utilise additional functionality.

In addition, Freeview have today also announced Jamie Zarzycki as the new head of Marketing & Insights for Freeview Australia with immediate effect.

Jamie is a Marketing professional with over 20 years’ experience in entertainment & media marketing including time at FOX International Channels, FOX Network Group, XYZ Entertainment, EMI & Virgin.
