Footy’s night of nights set to dazzle on Seven

The Brownlow Medal, Monday, 22 September, only on Seven and 7plus

As football fans across the nation count down to the final Saturday in September, the AFL’s most glittering night – The 2025 Charles Brownlow Medal – kicks off a massive week of footy, live, free and exclusive on Seven and 7plus Sport.

Hosted by 7AFL’s Hamish McLachlan and 7NEWS Melbourne Chief Sport Presenter, Rebecca Maddern, from Crown Melbourne, the 2025 count promises to be tight as ever – and Seven will deliver every nail-biting moment from the red carpet to the final vote as Australian football’s highest individual honour is awarded.

With a talent stacked pool of contenders, the Brownlow race is wide open, with Nick Daicos, Bailey Smith, Noah Anderson and Jordan Dawson all set to battle it out in what is poised to be an incredibly close count.

For the first time, Seven’s exclusive, live and free coverage will begin earlier than ever, with a pre-red carpet show, Blue Carpet Confessionals, to be streamed live from 5.30pm AEST on 7plus Sport.

Hosts celebrity stylist and Sunrise fashion expert, Elliot Garnaut and AFL legend Isaac Smith from the podcast No Utes in the Valet will sit down with the biggest names in the competition and their dazzling partners ahead of football’s night of nights, right outside the Palladium at Crown Melbourne, where all the magic happens.

Then, the glitz and glamour of the red carpet kicks off from 7.30pm AEST on Seven, 7mate, and 7plus Sport, where viewers will be greeted by 7AFL host and field commentator, Abbey Holmes, alongside an energetic crew of 7Sport’s most entertaining faces Emma Freedman, Dale Thomas and Matthew Richardson. Together, they will cover all the red carpet magic, quizzing the players with burning questions before the count gets underway.

Seven Network Head of AFL and Sport Innovation, Gary O’Keeffe, said: “From the first interview on the Blue Carpet Confessionals couch, through to what we expect to be a nail-biting final vote count, Australians can catch every moment of the 2025 Brownlow medal live, free and only on Seven and 7plus Sport.

“We know how unpredictable and competitive the Brownlow Medal count can be, and we anticipate this year will be no different.

“Nick Daicos just keeps getting better, the man more affectionately known as Bazlenka continues to set games alight, and two young Suns in Noah Anderson and his best mate Matt Rowell put the Gold Coast on the map in 2025. It’s been an incredible year of football and we can’t wait to see who takes out the game’s highest individual honour,” he said.

“With innovative broadcast technology – including the return of the Sparklebot slow-motion camera on the red carpet – the 2025 Brownlow Medal broadcast will be one to remember.”
