ANZAC Day on Seven

20th April 2026

This ANZAC Day the Seven Network will honour the fallen and those who serve through powerful stories of war, sacrifice and strength, as Australia comes together to remember.

Comprehensive coverage begins from 4.20am on Saturday 25 April, on Australia’s #1 breakfast television show Sunrise, hosted by Natalie Barr and Matt Shirvington live from the dawn service at North Bondi RSL. Emceed by Mark Beretta, this landmark broadcast marks the first time the iconic North Bondi RSL dawn service has been televised live to audiences across the nation.

As the sun rises over the Pacific, Sunrise will also cross live to commemorations around the country and overseas, including Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Gallipoli and Villers-Bretonneux, France.

Throughout the morning, Sunrise will bring Australians closer to the meaning of ANZAC Day through moving conversations with veterans, serving members and families of the fallen, alongside appearances from some of Australia’s most famous names, who will honour service, sacrifice and remembrance within the nation’s military community.

On-air until 12.00pm AEST, Sunrise’s special coverage continues with Michael Usher and Monique Wright, featuring stirring live musical performances from the Ten Tenors and live crosses to some of the biggest two-up events in the Southern Hemisphere.

Natalie Barr said: “There’s something truly powerful about greeting ANZAC Day as the sun comes up over the ocean. Being at Bondi, surrounded by veterans, families and the community, reminds us exactly why this day matters and how deeply it’s felt by Australians everywhere.”

Matt Shirvington said: “ANZAC Day reminds us of the sacrifice that shaped our country, and honours those who protect the freedoms we enjoy. To stand there among fellow Aussies paying their respects and to share that with you at home, it’s incredibly humbling.”

From 12.00pm AEST on Seven and 7plus, join 7NEWS for special live coverage featuring the Gallipoli Dawn Service and Villers-Bretonneux Dawn Service in France.

At 2:30pm AEST in Sydney and Brisbane, Lest We Forget: Harbour Sunset Tribute features more than 100 of Australia’s best military, veteran and civilian artists from the Sydney Opera House.

One of the biggest occasions on the AFL fixture takes centre stage from 2.00pm AEST, when powerhouse clubs Collingwood and Essendon clash in the annual ANZAC Day match as part of an action-packed week of footy, live and free on Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport.

Since their inaugural ANZAC Day match 31 years ago, the Magpies and Bombers have taken their longstanding rivalry to new heights with an epic series of matches in honour of the courageous ANZACs who served in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations – and particularly those who served in Gallipoli.

Seven will broadcast the full pre-game ceremony live and free, including the traditional ANZAC Day moment of silence and motorcade in front of a packed MCG, before the match coverage starts at 3.00pm.

Join 7NEWS at 6.00pm for a special ANZAC Day commemorative bulletin, as well as the rest of the day’s headlines.

Then on Sunday night at 9.00pm, the confronting and deeply personal documentary Bravery & Betrayal makes its television premiere, following a historic sold‑out national cinema run.

The unflinching documentary uncovers what life was really like on the ground, featuring exclusive interviews with S.A.S. soldiers, three former Prime Ministers, American Special Forces pilots, and the wives, mothers, widows and children left behind.

Bravery & Betrayal Director Simon J. Heath said: “At its heart, Bravery & Betrayal is about truth, fairness and honour. It is about ensuring that those who carried the burden of war are not left to carry the burden of silence.

Bravery & Betrayal became the largest independent Australian cinema documentary last year because everyday Australians believed these veterans deserved to have their voices heard.”
